In the summer, NorthLight runs a six-week career internship program for students who have completed grades 10,11, or 12. Students work at a job related to a career
interest while getting paid for 20 hrs a week. Students should apply in April. Also, during the summer: Teens for Good: Teen led urban farm located in
Roxborough: 6 weeks; 20hrs a week paid. -
During school year the center offers, an after school teen program 9-12th grade which offers academic support, cultural activities, leadership opportunities to
broaden student horizons. M-Th 4-6:30. (BABY) Possible stipends available.Also SAT prep is offered through Philly Tutors ($280 for 8 wk course; 20 hrs) . Fee

Not just another after-school or weekend program, PACTS is a youth leadership experience designed to involve students as an integral and active part of the daily
life of The Franklin Institute. Students who continue in PACTS through high school graduation have the skills and confidence to be successful college students and become dynamic, productive adults with engaging careers in science and beyond. .PACTS students engage in hands-on science workshops, field-based research, special field trips, college and career counseling, and much more! The PACTS Program is a FREE program, available to Philadelphia area students. ThePACTS workshops meet on Saturday mornings, twice a month during the school year at The Franklin Institute. There are no specific scholastic requirements, but studentsare encouraged to be strong in math and science, and have a passion for learningscience! During the summer months we hold the PACTS Summer Institute. This is a 6week long science camp, where students have the chance to intensely study various science topics while completing research projects. At the end of the summer the students present their findings to their families and staff members of The FranklinInstitute.

The Mural Arts Program offers free art classes to young people ages 10 to 22 at sites across Philadelphia. The Exploring program has many career shadowing programs available for students. Exploring is a hands-on career shadowing program for teens ages 14 through 20 years old. Some of Philadelphia's most visible businesses volunteer their efforts and knowledge and invite students to come to their offices behind the scenes and learn all of the details to pursuing an education and career in their particular specialty fields. Teens 4 Good is a Federation of Neighborhood Centers program that builds long term,working relationships with promising students attending Philadelphia’s public
high schools, beginning in the ninth grade. Teens 4 Good provides students, starting in ninth grade, with a year-round curriculum of character, leadership, teamwork and life skills development, one-on-one mentoring, career exploration, cultural opportunities, and hands-on entrepreneurial activities through a teen-run gardening,
